Natural Gas Transmission Project Announced.

The SAGE Systems Division of Neles Automation has been awarded the Turkey Natural Gas Transmission SCADA System Project, a major gas transmission Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system in Turkey. The scope of this project is to upgrade and replace the existing SCADA system, and will include pipeline modeling software provided by Stoner Associates.

Headquartered in Ankara, the Turkish National Petroleum Pipeline Transportation Corporation (BOTAS) owns and operates the 530-mile national natural gas transmission network. The project is the result of Turkey's aggressive expansion of its natural gas transmission and distribution networks.

Neles Automation will provide a turnkey solution for the natural gas transmission SCADA system using its advanced UNIX-based OASyS software. The SCADA system will be integrated with existing and new RTUs, communicating via mixed digital/analog microwave and dialup lines. The OASyS SCADA system being delivered to BOTAS is sized to handle 750 RTUs and over 60,000 information points to accommodate future planned growth and expansion of the gas transmission network.
