National student squad call-up for UWS's Chloe.

University of THEWEST of Scotland's Chloe Docherty has been called up to the National StudentWomen's Football Squad.

Docherty, who plays for Celtic, has made the squad as they look to retain the Home Nations trophy which they picked up last year.

Trials for the National StudentWomen's Football Squad were held earlier this month at the Oriam.

Students from across a range of universities and colleges trialed and the coaches were faced with a difficult selection decision.

Grant Scott returns as head coach, ably assisted by Nichola Sturrock, Graeme Hart and recent addition Mike Ross.

Scott said:"There was a really good standard at the trials and it's great to have a number of returning players from the successful Home Nations team earlier in the year.

"I am further delighted to include players from a number of academic institutions as well.

"The staff team are looking forward to building a strong team mentality with the new group of players."
