National Social Fund's Board holds first meeting.

Manama, Jul. 16. (BNA) -- Social Development Minister Dr. Fatima Mohammed Al-Balooshi has chaired the first meeting of the Board of Directors of the National Social Fund. The Minister underlined the importance of joining ranks in order to achieve the goals of the Fund, including launching projects and services to develop childhood, ensure care of the elderly, rehabilitate persons with disabilities and provide the needed support for families. The meeting focused on the National Social Fund's financial and administrative by-law, to be approved later, and the budgets allocated for its committees. It is to be noted that the National Social Fund was created as per Royal Decree (84) issued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in 2011. His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa issued Edict 68 of 2013 forming the National Social Fund's Board and work mechanisms. In 2014, the Social Development Minister issued Edict 20 for this year, appointing forming the Board of Directors of the National Social Fund, under her Chairmanship and the membership of Hanan Mohammed Kama, from the Social Development Ministry, Baheeja Mohammed Al-Dulaimi, from the National Committee for Childhood, Hassan Ebrahim Kamal, representing the High Committee for the Elderly, Shaikh Daij bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, from the High Committee for the Affairs of People with Disability and Jassim Mohammed Al-Harban, representing the Ministry of Education.
