Nashville nights: simply spectacular!

Nashville, Tenn., lives up to the name "Music City USA" in every way. Attendees at the American Correctional Association's 123rd Congress of Correction will be astounded by the fantastic entertainment that can be found in almost any nightspot.

From country to jazz to stand-up comedy, this city is indeed special--restaurants such as the Nashville Palace and the Stock Yard Restaurant feature top name entertainers, as well as delicious meals every night. Nashville Palace, located across from the Opryland Hotel, features popular Music City entertainers and showcases rising talent. On Monday nights throughout the summer, Grand Ole Opry stars perform. The Stock Yard Restaurant features live entertainment in the upstairs lounge.

Those looking for a place to dance have a wide selection of clubs from which to choose. Exit/In features live entertainment nightly in an intimate setting. Music ranges from rock to country to reggae and blues. Stagedoor Lounge at the Opryland Hotel is a three-level nightspot featuring live Top 40 dance music. Aviator's and McGavocks are popular high tech discos, and Wranglers has plenty of room for the two-step.

Church Street Centre, in downtown Nashville, houses several restaurants and "Nite Lights," a disco playing Top 40 dance music. The Captain's Table and Boots Randolph's are crowded with visitors and locals out for an evening of fine dining and good music. Many other chic bistros on Second Avenue North offer unusual dining and entertainment choices.

If you're out for a good laugh, Comedy Off Broadway features nationally known comedians nightly Wednesday through Sunday. Shows begin at 8:00 p.m. with 10:30 p.m. late shows Friday and Saturday. Zanies Comedy Showplace has professional comedy shows nightly Tuesday through Sunday. The club is open for dinner at 6:30 p.m.

In addition to the many nightly activities throughout the city, ACA has planned a variety of events to keep you entertained. At Sunday evening's Opening Session Icebreaker Reception, attendees can enjoy the company of their friends and colleagues for the first formal social gathering of the conference.

The Exhibits/Get Acquainted Reception on Monday evening provides the perfect opportunity to meet and mingle with representatives from ACA's exhibiting companies. This is the ideal chance to discuss your particular product and service needs.

On Wednesday night, hold on to your hats! It's the Annual E.R. Cass Awards Banquet. During this popular event, we will honor the three Cass Award winners, The Honorable Helen G. Corrothers, Gail D. Hughes and Morris L. Thigpen. The Banquet will also feature a performance by the legendary Everly Brothers. Don't miss it!

Nashville is definitely the place to be from Aug. 1-5. No matter what your nighttime interest, you won't be disappointed. Make plans to attend the 123rd Congress, and take advantage of the best Nashville has to offer.
