Nashville hosts World ITRA Expo.

The International Tire & Rubber Association will hold its World ITRA Expo April 19-21 at the Opryland Hotel Convention Center in Nashville, TN.

The World ITRA Expo, featuring 14 hours of exhibits and 25 educational workshops for tire retreaders and repairers, commercial tire dealers, and tire and rubber recyclers, is an educational forum that focuses on equipment, technology and issues that are important to the tire, rubber, recycling, service station and transportation industries.

Wednesday, April 18 has been designated government/industry day at the ITRA Expo. Forums will be held by state scrap tire program managers and Canadian scrap tire program managers. "Making TDF a commodity," a TRRAC sponsored industry forum, will also be held.

Eight workshops will be held on Thursday, April 19, including "Tires 101: Tire maintenance - mastering the basics," "How to keep good employees," "Quantitative measures - testing, standards and product criteria for recycled rubber," "A new breed of market and economic development services: Where to find the resources you need," "How to obtain ISO 9000 certification," "How to sell at prices higher than your competitors," "International Forum: Setting standards in Europe/Brazil's new rules for scrap tires," and "Civil engineering applications - making them happen in your state."

Nine workshops will be held on Friday, April 20, including "Mock trial," "Wheel fastener failure analysis," "Status of Canadian scrap tire recycling programs," "Sharing the U.S. experience: How to become a tire recycler in your country," "Preparing to testify for depositions and court trials," "Tire failure analysis," "Networking in Nashville," "Tire and rubber recyclers town meeting," and "Legal issues affecting petroleum marketing."

The International Tire & Rubber Industry Hall of Fame and ITRA Awards Banquet will take place Friday evening, April 20.

Three workshops will be held on Saturday, April 21, including "In-shop retread/repair failures," "Proper tire valve selection and installation," and "How to market automotive repair."

The "Recycled rubber products primer," an on-the-exhibit-floor learning workshop, will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 21.
