Nashoba boys tennis crushes North Middlesex.

BOLTON -- The Nashoba Regional High School boys tennis team improved to an even .500 with a 5-0 victory over North Middlesex at home on Wednesday.

The Chieftains are 6-6 on the season overall and 2-6 in the Midland League A. North Middlsex, which is 5-2 in the Midland League B, dropped to 7-7 overall.

The results of the singles matches were: first singles, Christian Fletcher, Nashoba, def. M. Frederick, North Middlesex, 6-2, 6-1; second singles, Andrew Bilodeau, Nashoba, def. G. Best, North Middlesex, 6-2, 6-2; and third singles: Tom Kennon, Nashoba, def. A. Darabaris, North Middlesex, 6-1, 6-0.

The doubles results were: first doubles, Sean Quirk and Ben von Stetten, Nashoba, def. D. Frederick and B. Wharran, North Middlesex, 6-1, 6-4; and second doubles, Nathan Campbell and Caleb Winick, Nashoba, def. H. Shattuck and S. Tocci, North Middlesex, 6-0, 6-0.

On Monday, the Chieftains squeaked by Algonquin 3-2, also at home.

Winning for Nashoba were: Kennon at third singles (6-0, 6-0, over Brendan Clark); Quirk and von Stetten at first doubles, (6-3, 6-4 over Nick Cheng and Zack Gilfix; and Campbell and Winick at second doubles (6-1, 6-2 over Dan Green and Bijoy Shah).

Algonquin fell to 6-5 overall and 3-5 in the Midland A.

Girls tennis

The Nashoba girls tennis team made the long trip to North Middlesex a fruitful one on Wednesday, returning home with a 5-0 win that gave the squad a 10-4 record.

At first singles, Jillian Winer, Nashoba, def. Kim Schmitz, North Middlesex, 6-0, 6-0; while, at second singles, Kelly Poole, Nashoba, def. Amy Flournoy, North Middlesex, 6-0, 6-0. At third singles, Emma Picaro, Nashoba, def. Linda Zheng, North Middlesex, 6-0, 6-0.

The doubles results were: first doubles, Victoria Wang and Kyra Fasano, Nashoba, def. Delaney Ledoux and Stephanie Mullin, North Middlesex, 6-0, 6-0; and second doubles, Cayla Murphy and Emily Floyd, Nashoba, def. Elena Beauregard and Taylor Larsen, North Middlesex, 6-2, 6-2

The Chieftains were also on the road on Monday, bringing home a 4-1 victory over Algonquin Regional.

The singles results were: first singles, Winer, Nashoba, def. Pankhuri Walia, Algonquin, 6-1, 6-2; second singles, Poole, Nashoba, def. Tina Daigneault, Algonquin, 7-5, 6-4; and third singles, Picaro, Nashoba, def. Jenny Ma, Algonquin, 4-6, 6-0, 10-6.

The doubles results were: first doubles, Wang and Sophia Duros, Nashoba, def. Emily Wu and Carly Fagan, Algonquin, 6-0, 6-1; and second doubles, Taylor Long and Morgan Kreiss, Algonquin, def. Fasano and Erika Rohrberg, Nashoba, 7-5, 6-3.

Girls track

The Nashoba girls track team stayed unbeaten at 4-0 with an 83-62 road victory over Marlboro on Tuesday.

Chieftain Kristina MacLure was a winner in both the long jump and the 200-meter run.

Other field event winners for Nashoba were: Courtney Aylaian in the javelin, Drew Hannigan in the triple jump and Haley Doyle in the pole vault.

Other running event winners for the Chieftains were: Emmalie Keenan in the 100m hurdles; Sarah Militano in the 100m; Rylee Gillen in the mile; Stephanie Palis, Michaela Pelland, Sarah Mpelkas and Abby Slater in the 4-by-100m relay; and Emily Suleski in the 400m.
