Nash County Landowners Association Launches New Web Site Opposing Sanderson Farms Slaughterhouse.

NASHVILLE, N.C., Jan. 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Nash County Landowners Association (NCLA) launched a new Web site Friday afternoon opposing the Sanderson Farms' proposed site location in Nash County. The Web site address is www.SayNOtoSanderson.com.

"This Web site will show Sanderson Farms that we are not going away. We will continue to fight the slaughterhouse and chicken houses even if it takes months or years. One year of fighting against this proposed burden is much better than living with it and its undesirable side effects for the next 50 years," said Con Ward, Co-Chairman of the NCLA.

On the Web site, visitors will have the opportunity to sign up for email alerts, join the Facebook group, sign a petition, read the latest news stories and learn about the harmful effects of the proposed project. Site visitors will also have the opportunity to join the coalition, contribute to the cause and download the latest flyers to hand out to their friends and neighbors.

"We are hopeful that www.SayNOtoSanderson.com will help educate the people in our community about the hazards and less than desirable effects of this project. If they want to become more active and join 1000 of their neighbors in the coalition or if they want to find out how much chicken manure we will have in our area, they now have one place to go to find the information," added Ward.

Visit www.SayNOtoSanderson.com for information about NCLA and the proposed Sanderson Farms slaughterhouse.
