Nancy Bartlett Hitch Student Scholarship Award.

The Nancy Bartlett Hitch Student Scholarship Award is presented to deserving students to provide additional opportunities for personal and professional growth. The award honors those who have made outstanding contributions to the development and extension of ACEI, as well as those who have made contributions to the advancement of children's education.

The 2010 award winners are:

Jamie VanCleve. Jamie graduated recently from Florida Gulf Coast University with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. Jamie joined ACEI in September 2008, and serves as the Eagles Educate Chapter Secretary. She has organized several fundraising activities, and has participated in both national and international outreach programs. She presented a poster session at the ACEI 2009 Global Sharing Fair titled "A Story of a Chinese English Language Learner in a U.S. School." Jamie is a member of Kappa Delta Pi, the International Honor Society in Education, and Sigma Alpha Pi, the Honor Society of Leadership and Success. In addition to her studies, ACEI projects, and community volunteer activities, Jamie is a wife and mother of two young children.

Bethany Warder. Bethany is a full-time student at Stevenson University and will graduate in May 2010 with a degree in early childhood education (liberal arts and technology). Since joining ACEI in September 2006, Bethany has been instrumental in Stevenson University ACEI Chapter leadership. She has served in several positions on the chapter level--as secretary, vice president, chair of various chapter committees, and chapter president. She attended the 2007 through 2010 ACEI Annual International Conferences, and presented at the 2008, 2009, and 2010 conferences. Throughout college, Bethany has demonstrated the highest level of academic achievement. She is a member of Sigma Alpha Pi, the National Society of Leadership and Success, and a member of Kappa Delta Pi, the International Honor Society in Education.
