Nala the elephant meets family who chose her name.

THE newest arrival at Knowsley SafariPark has been named by a local family.

The baby elephant, born last month, is to becalledNala.

Nala, who will be three weeks old today,lives with her half-sister Ashanti and their mother. Their first official visitors were the family who named her.

Ann Fitzpatrick, from Churchfield, Widnes, made the suggestion Nala after her granddaughter Sophie,10, saidit.

Sophie and her sister, Abbey, eight, met Nala and Ashanti yesterday with their grandmother and grandfather,Bob.

David Ross, general manager, said: ``Nala is a bundle of energy and very playful.''
