Naked protest man held.

A COVENTRY student started a naked protest in London yesterday.

Vincent Michael Bethell, aged 26, of Foleshill Road, was campaigning for the right to strip in public.

He staged his latest protest after climbing on a lamp post opposite the High Court in the Strand in his birthday suit to read a book.

Three men and a woman soon joined him in the naked protest, although two of the men put their clothes back on when threatened with arrest.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said they had arrested three men and a woman at the scene but none had yet been charged.
