NZMS offers new body temperature controls.

NEW Zealand Medical & Scientific has two new products--CritiCool and Allon--available from US medical technology company MTRE, a company that develops, manufactures and markets innovative non-invasive solutions for body temperature control.

CritiCool is a non-invasive approach to cooling therapy. This breakthrough technology provides effective induction and maintenance of cooling. The continuous temperature feedback mechanism between a patient's temperature and the machine provides controlled cooling to the programmed target via a proprietary temperature controlled algorithm. The wraps provide a three dimensional surface coverage of up to 85% of the body, maximizing energy transfer. It is a system that is convenient, and easy to use with three basic steps, Set, Wrap and Cool.

Then there is the Allon system--an advanced solution for precise body temperature management. It is a sleek, highly efficient and advanced compact unit that can be comfortably included in the tightest medical facilities; the Allon Control unit uses regular tap water and is completely portable. Its features include normothermia management, controls induced hypothermia and provides precise re-warming, real time dynamic feedback loop from patient to machine, proprietary temperature management algorithms and it supports of wide range of perioperative procedures, both in the paediatric and adult settings.
