SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 6, 1999--

3D GameGauge 2.0 Results Extends Company's

Technology Leadership Position

NVIDIA(TM) Corporation (NASDAQ: NVDA), one of the world's leading suppliers of high performance 3D processors for mainstream PCs, announced today that in the latest roundup from Computer Gaming World (CGW) the RIVA TNT2(TM) dominated the results by posting the fastest score in CGW's newest 3D GameGauge 2.0 3D graphics benchmark. In the same roundup, the RIVA TNT2-based graphics accelerators won three out of five of the Editors' Choice Awards and also maintained eight out of the top 10 scoring 3D graphics cards. The latest roundup can be found online at http://www.gamespot.com or in the August 1999 issue of CGW.

"The 3D GameGauge 2.0 performance test reflects the consumer's at-home experience," stated Dan Vivoli, vice president of marketing at NVIDIA. "Along with the Mercury Research results and now GameGauge 2.0 we have clearly demonstrated the RIVA TNT2 is the ultimate graphics processor for both business and games."

The Hercules Dynamite TNT2 Ultra, Guillemot Xentor 16 and the Diamond Multimedia Viper V77 all received Editors' Choice Awards. TNT2-based graphic accelerators from Hercules, Diamond, Leadtek, Guillemot and ASUS were among the nine out of 12 top scoring cards in the round-up, with the Hercules Dynamite TNT2 taking the top honor with a GameGauge 2.0 score of 50.2. This latest honor from CGW comes on the heels of the Special Premier Award for Hardware Development that the company was awarded at the 1999 Premier Awards held in San Francisco on February of 1999.

"NVIDIA is currently the only company to deliver on the promise of true ultra high-speed parts to the retail market," said Peggy Fong, CEO at Hercules. "Gamers can be assured that with RIVA TNT2-based Dynamite products they can get both - extremely high frame rates and astounding visual quality."

The RIVA TNT2 architecture is NVIDIA's fourth-generation, integrated, 128-bit 3D processor. The TwiN Texel Architecture, combined with per-pixel mip-mapping precision, offers an unprecedented fill rate of over 300 million pixels-per-second. The RIVA TNT2 also has the ability to render up to 10 million triangles per second which allows developers to write standards based applications with stunning visual effects.

The RIVA TNT2 is the fastest 128-bit processor with Digital Flat Panel support, AGP 4X and AGP 2X support. It also meets all the requirements of the mainstream PC graphics market and Microsoft's(R) PC98, PC99 and all DirectX(TM) 6.0 initiatives. In addition to DirectX support, the RIVA TNT2 provides full support for an OpenGL(R) ICD (Installable Client Driver) for Windows(R) 95, Windows 98 and Windows NT. The industry's fastest Direct3D acceleration, leadership VGA, Directdraw and Video performance allows the RIVA TNT2 to power full screen DVD playback as well as a growing range of 3D applications, including the hottest 3D games.

NVIDIA Processors

The RIVA family of 3D/2D processors, the RIVA TNT2(TM), RIVA TNT(TM), RIVA 128ZX(TM) and the RIVA 128(TM) is the first family of high performance processors for the performance mainstream PC market. The RIVA processors utilize a 128-bit pipeline to support the computational throughput required for current and future graphically intense applications. The NVIDIA Vanta(TM)3D/2D processor is the first in a family of 3D processors designed for the enterprise PC market. Based on the award winning RIVA TNT architecture, the NVIDIA Vanta processor is designed for Windows 2000 and the burgeoning market for enterprise visualization applications. By leveraging its graphics technology and massive gate counts, all NVIDIA processors are able to deliver stunningly realistic, high frame rate 3D, along with benchmark winning 2D, VGA and video acceleration in single chip solutions. NVIDIA processors are optimized for both Direct3D(TM) and OpenGL(R).
