NUCLEAR SUPPORT SERVICES REPORTS SUCCESSFUL FOURTH QUARTER, YEAR END
CAMPBELLTOWN, Pa., Nov. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Nuclear Support Services, Inc. (NASDAQ: NSSI) today reported net earnings of $987,117 or $.45 per share on revenues of $71,388,598 for the fiscal year ended Sept. 30, 1991.
For the fourth fiscal quarter ended Sept. 30, 1991, NSSI continued profitability with net earnings of $216,062 or $.10 per share. This compared favorably to a net loss of $1,028,354 or $.46 per share loss on revenues of $61,280,780 in the 12-month period a year earlier and a 1990 fourth quarter net loss of $547,438 or $.25 per share loss. Revenues for the fiscal quarters in 1991 and 1990 were $12,525,614 and $12,801,571, respectively.
Other expenses declined approximately 40 percent for the current quarter and year due primarily to lower interest expense while a capital loss carryback realized in the fourth quarter resulted in reduced income tax expense for the quarter and the year. Joe C. Quick, chairman, president and chief executive officer of NSSI, noted, "The refocus on the company's core business has resulted in income from operations during the fourth quarter which has historically been the weakest reporting period of the year." He also stated, "NSSI is starting fiscal year 1992 with the biggest backlog of business for the coming spring outage season in the company's history."
