NTT software to offer Vuico GoWireless software in Japan.

NTT Software and Vuico, LLC, recently announced the signing of a joint development agreement to co-develop and adapt Vuico's advanced GoWireless Mobile Messaging applications for distribution in the Japanese market. GoWireless Mobile Messaging delivers access to applications and content independent of the location, network or wireless device to offer true wireless convergence.

The Japanese market represents the most advanced adoption of wireless applications and services providing both a serious challenge and opportunity to any wireless product. Japanese handsets are designed for ease of use as well as esthetics. Japanese consumers demand more engaging graphics than are available in other world markets and are frequent users of mail and scheduling applications when commuting to and from the office. As a result, the Japanese market leads current wireless technology standards with larger, colorful screens, high-quality sound and icon-based menus to simplify navigating through a much wider selection of Web-based services.

This advanced, demanding and competitive market provides an excellent proving ground for NTT Software to validate the Vuico GoWireless Mobile Messaging products. Both companies are confident that the GoWireless products will deliver the features and value for success in the Japanese market.

"Vuico's GoWireless products allow carriers and enterprise customers to gain sizeable competitive advantage with innovative services far exceeding those available from any other wireless technology," stated Vuico's President and CEO, Vui Le. "We developed our GoWireless Mobile Messaging applications to take advantage of NTT Software's BLUEGRID ultra-thin client-server middleware. The market-tested and proven BLUEGRID infrastructure ensures a broad market base for new wireless products and services."

Dr. Seishiro Tsuruho, NTT Software's President and CEO said, "Vuico clearly shares NTT Software's dedication to developing and marketing advanced telecommunications technology designed for the very demanding Japanese customer. Both companies are focused on the customer and delivering technology with ever-higher levels of quality and reliability. Carriers and enterprises want a competitive advantage, new sources of revenue and access to the most advanced telecommunications networks. Subscribers want secure and reliable voice and data communications. Vuico's BLUEGRID-based GoWireless products are well suited to both levels of customer."

NTT Software Corporation was founded in July 1985, when Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT), the world's largest telecommunications company, was privatized. NTT Software offers total solution services including IT-based management-strategy consulting, system building, maintenance and operational services. It provides "Packaged SI," a combination of packaged software products and system integration and "Scratch Development SI," for custom development. It also provides its own solutions based on standard modules and functionalities. In FY 2002, NTT Software's main business focus is on broadband solutions in: "IP Platform Building," "Mobile Applications," "EC Front-System" and "EC Backbone-System." It also provides IT-based management-strategy consulting to medium-sized enterprises and promising companies.

Houston-based Vuico provides wireless and mobile computing software that "makes smart phones smarter." The company was established in 2001 through a unique investment and technology partnership with NTT Software Corporation of Japan to adapt and enhance NTT Software's advanced wireless technology and applications for North and South America. Today, Vuico markets its Mobile Platform and GoWireless applications around the world with a technical support team in North America fully backed by NTT Software's R&D engineers in Japan.
