NSTL to Provide Application Certification Testing Services to Virgin Mobile USA; NSTL Extends Services to Major MVNO.

BLUE BELL, Pa., Oct. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- National Software Testing Labs (NSTL), the world's leading mobile application testing provider, announced that Virgin Mobile USA has named NSTL to be the testing provider for Virgin Mobile's application certification program. The addition of Virgin Mobile extends NSTL's leadership in mobile testing and certification to the foremost US MVNO.

The program is a testing and evaluation process for third-party applications that run on handsets sold by Virgin Mobile. Applications are measured against a set of development standards jointly established by Virgin Mobile and NSTL. Once an application successfully completes the process, it will be available for download by Virgin Mobile subscribers.

"This is an important addition to our position as the mobile industry's leading testing and certification provider," said Lloyd Holder, NSTL CEO. "Our relationship with Virgin Mobile expands NSTL's reach to the leading MVNO and further allows us to assist mobile application developers and publishers in getting their applications to market in the most efficient and cost- effective manner. NSTL is able to draw on our extensive experience to assist Virgin Mobile in this effort. Further, since NSTL already has business relationships with most major developers and publishers, we are uniquely positioned to exploit synergies thereby providing them with an even greater level of service," added Holder.

"The appointment of NSTL as our testing partner is right in line with our passionate commitment to providing the best possible wireless experience for our customers," said Dominick Tolli, Vice President Product Management and Development, Virgin Mobile USA. "We look to NSTL, as one of the world's top mobile application testing organizations, to help us ensure that all of our downloadable apps are seamless and rock-solid for each and every user. We also expect this new relationship to provide a major asset to the developer community."

NSTL will use its proprietary web infrastructure to manage the developer submission process. This infrastructure includes portals used for submission and tracking of applications throughout the testing process. In addition, NSTL's systems also track important metrics of the program such as the ratio of passed and failed submissions and specific application bugs.
