Barbara Streisand and Seth Rogen in The Guilt Trip Trapped in the driver's seat beside the matriarch, Andy is compelled to confront simmering family tensions and to air painful home truths. Gradually, mother and son realise they are more similar than they thought.

SIDE EFFECTS (15) Office worker Emily Taylor (Rooney Mara) is crippled with anxiety about the impending release of her jailbird husband, Martin (Channing Tatum), who has served four years for insider trading. Top psychiatrist Jonathan Banks (Jude Law), who has been asked to assess her after a failed suicide attempt, prescribes a new medication called Ablixa to calm Emily's nerves. Soon after, in a drug-induced haze, the wife commits an unspeakable act and as the media swarms, attention turns to Jonathan's culpability for supplying the pills that led to an act of unimaginable violence. Jonathan's wife Dierdre (Vinessa Banks) and business partners abandon him in his hour of need. Faced with the prospect of losing his medical licence, Jonathan investigates Ablixa, aided by Emily's former shrink, Dr Victoria Siebert (Catherine Zeta-Jones).

BROKEN CITY (15) New York cop Billy Taggart (Mark Wahlberg) takes down an unarmed suspect and faces a prison sentence for his apparent lapse in judgement. It looks like an open and shut case until popular Mayor Nicholas Hostetler (Russell Crowe) steps in with a deal, making clear to Billy that he expects a favour in return. Seven years later, Billy is a low-rent private detective. He owes $42,000 - the situation is dire. Out of the blue, Hostetler, who is embroiled in a bitter election battle with charismatic rival Jack Valliant (Barry Pepper), calls in his marker: he asks Billy to gather evidence to prove that his wife Cathleen (Catherine Zeta-Jones) has been unfaithful. A surveillance operation reveals a hotel room liaison between Cathleen and Paul Andrews (Kyle Chandler), manager of the Valliant campaign. Her betrayal seems clear, then Andrews is murdered and Billy grapples with the chilling probability that he signed the campaign manager's death warrant.

SAFE HAVEN (12A) A distraught wife, Erin Tierney (Julianne Hough), flees the scene of a crime - perhaps murder, perhaps self-defence. With detective Kevin Tierney (David Lyons) in pursuit, she travels far away from her troubled past and hopes to throw the cops off her scent by alighting early in the quaint fishing community of Southport, North Carolina. Erin re-christens herself Katie Feldman, secures lodgings in a remote cabin and enjoys a flirtation with widower Alex Wheatley (Josh Duhamel), who is raising two demanding children, Josh (Noah Lomax) and Lexi (Mimi Kirkland). Perhaps Katie could be his second chance at happiness.

MAMA (15) Businessman Jeffrey (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) kills his partners and his wife, then takes his young children Victoria (Megan Charpentier) and Lilly (Isabelle Nelisse) for a drive into the mountains. The car skids off the icy road and an injured Jeffrey seeks sanctuary with the girls in a cabin. "Daddy, there's a woman outside. She's not touching the floor," Victoria ominously informs her father, shortly before he comes to a sticky end. Five years later, a search party locates the girls, who have been living in the cabin under the watchful gaze of an invisible presence they call Mama. Jeffrey's twin, Lucas (Coster-Waldau), is overjoyed his nieces have been found and he and guitarist girlfriend Annabel (Chastain) agree to provide a loving home to Victoria and Lilly, unaware of the dangers posed by the dark spirit watching over the urchins.

A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD (12A) For this fifth chapter, John McClane (Bruce Willis) is dispatched to the gridlocked Russian capital to visit his son Jack (Jai Courtney), who has been arrested for murder. No sooner has John strutted into Moscow than terrorists blow up the courthouse to kidnap high-profile prisoner Yuri Komarov (Sebastian Koch). As the dust settles, McClane sees his son leading Komarov to safety with gun-toting assassins in hot pursuit. John gives chase and learns Jack is a CIA hotshot on a top-secret mission to protect Komarov and his dossier of evidence.
