NOVACARE ANNOUNCES ACQUISITION OF CALIFORNIA CONTRACT THERAPY COMPANY
 VALLEY FORGE, Pa., July 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Novacare Inc. (NYSE: NOV), an industry leader in medical rehabilitation services, announced the acquisition of Physio West Rehabilitation Services, Inc. in Oakland, Calif.
 Physio West is a well-established medical rehabilitation business providing physical and occupational therapy services on a contract basis to skilled nursing facilities and acute care hospitals in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area. The company employs over forty physical and occupational therapists.
 The company's owners, Pamela Pfarr and Carol M. Ramsey, both physical therapists, will remain with NovaCare to assist with the integration of the business and with the further development of NovaCare's contract therapy business in the western United States.
 Pamela Pfarr, who founded Physio West in 1985, said, "We are very pleased to be joining this growing company which is playing such a major role in shaping the medical rehabilitation industry."
 Commenting on the acquisition, NovaCare President C. Arnold Renchler, M.D., stated, "Physio West shares NovaCare's commitment to excellence in customer service and quality patient care.
