NOVACARE ACQUIRES ARIZONA CONTRACT THERAPY COMPANY

 VALLEY FORGE, Pa., Jan. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- NovaCare, Inc. (NYSE: NOV), an industry leader in medical rehabilitation services, today announced it has acquired Western Rehab Services, Inc. in Phoenix, Ariz.
 Western Rehab is a well-established rehabilitation business providing physical and occupational therapy and speech language pathology services on a contract basis to acute care hospitals and skilled nursing facilities in the Phoenix and Tucson metropolitan areas. The company is the largest Arizona-based rehabilitation practice and employs approximately 100 therapists.
 "Western Rehab has an outstanding reputation for quality patient care and customer service," said C. Arnold Renschler, M.D., NovaCare's general manager of contract services. "We are very pleased with this partnership which substantially strengthens our service capability in the important Arizona market."
 The company's owners, Brian Robinson and John Tuitele, will retain their leadership roles with NovaCare to continue the further development of NovaCare's contract therapy business in the western United States.
