 NOVACARE'S ORTHOPEDIC SERVICES ACQUIRES PATIENT CARE FACILITIES
 IN FLORIDA AND ARIZONA
 VALLEY FORGE, Pa., May 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Orthopedic Services, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of NovaCare, Inc. (NYSE: NOV), today announced the acquisitions of Florida Orthotic and Prosthetic Centers, Inc., and Phoenix Limb Shop, Inc.
 Florida Orthotic and Prosthetic Centers, Inc. and its related company, Florida Foot Care Center, was founded in 1982 and operates 2 patient care centers. The Lauderdale Lakes facility serves patients and health care institutions throughout Broward County and Delray Beach serves Palm Beach County residents. Florida Foot Care Centers, Inc. operates a pedorthic center in the Broward patient care facility.
 Former owner Matt Keller is both a certified prosthetist and certified orthotist and is currently the president of the Florida Association of Orthotics and Prosthetics. Keller will continue to manage the Florida facilities and play an active role in Orthopedic Services' plan to rapidly expand its Florida presence.
 Phoenix Limb Shop, Inc. was founded in 1946 and is a service- intensive high quality prosthetics practice serving the entire Phoenix area. Former owner, Dale E. Jenkins, a certified prosthetist, will remain active in the business.
 Jeffrey S. Levitt, president of Orthopedic Services, Inc. (OSI), said, "Our acquisition of Florida Orthotic and Prosthetic Centers marks a major entry into the Florida O&P market, a key growth area for 1992. The Florida centers employ state-of-the-art design in their prosthetics practices.  OSI is the largest provider of patient care services in the orthotic and prosthetic rehabilitation segment of the healthcare services industry. OSI currently provides services through 106 patient care centers in 22 states. Orthotic rehabilitation is the fitting, design and fabrication of custom-made braces and support devices for the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions resulting from illness, injury, or congenital abnormalities. Prosthetic rehabilitation is the fitting, design and fabrication of custom-made artificial limbs required by people who have suffered the loss of a limb from vascular disease, diabetes, cancer or traumatic injuries.
 NovaCare, Inc. is the largest provider of contract rehabilitation therapy services to the healthcare industry. The company also operates seven freestanding rehabilitation hospitals and six community rehabilitation service programs.
