NOVA PIPELINE REPAIRED AND IN SERVICE

CALGARY, Alberta, Aug. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- NOVA Corporation of Alberta announced today that full service has been restored to the 36-inch line which was ruptured at approximately 9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 23. Service was restored early this morning. The pipeline is located in a remote forested area 40 kilometers southwest of the town of Valleyview.
The break did not result in any significant change in planned volumes for delivery at either the Alberta-British Columbia or Alberta- Saskatchewan border points.
The sweet natural gas escaping from the rupture caught fire and ignited a small forest fire. Both the fires were quickly put out. There were no injuries related to the incident and no danger to the public.
It will be some weeks before NOVA completes its full investigation of the cause of the rupture.
