NOSKI NAMED HUGHES CFO; REED ELECTED GMHE VP, TREASURER
LOS ANGELES, Aug. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Charles H. Noski has been named senior vice president and chief financial officer of Hughes Aircraft Co. He will report to Michael T. Smith, the former chief financial officer who was named vice chairman of Hughes in May.
 W. Allen Reed was elected vice president and treasurer of GM Hughes Electronics (GHME), the parent company of Hughes. He will report to Robert J. Schultz, chairman, president and chief executive officer of GMHE.
Reed will retain his position as corporate vice president and treasurer of Hughes and, in that capacity, report to Noski.
Both Noski and Reed will continue to serve as members of the Hughes policy board.
Noski has been with Hughes since 1990 when he was elected corporate vice president and controller. He previously was with the international accounting and consulting firm of Deloitte & Touche as supervising partner for its services to Hughes.
Noski joined Haskins & Sells -- later, through merger, to become Deloitte & Touche -- in 1973. He served in a variety of management roles in the firm's services to Hughes from 1975 to 1990, and was Deloitte & Touche's national industry director for services to the aerospace and defense industry. He became a partner of the firm in 1983.
Noski, 39, received his bachelor of science degree in business administration from California State University, Northridge, in 1973, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Financial Executives Institute.
Reed joined Hughes in 1984 as president of Hughes Investment Management Co., a subsidiary responsible for the management of funds held in the company's retirement and savings plans.
Prior to joining Hughes, Reed was vice president and portfolio manager for a private investment consulting firm in Atlanta. He previously held various positions with Delta Air Lines and was assistant treasurer when he left the company.
Reed, 45, received his B.A.A. degree in engineering from Auburn University and a master of business administration from Georgia State University. He is a member of the Financial Analysts Federation and has been awarded the designation of Charted Financial Analyst.
