 NORWEST PROMOTES TWO BANK PRESIDENTS IN TWIN CITIES AREA
 MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Norwest Bank Minnesota has named


Willard Rohde and Shirley Strande presidents, respectively, of the South Minneapolis and the Southeast Minneapolis markets.
 Rohde, who was head of the Southeast Minneapolis market, replaces Gerald De Land, who has joined the Norwest regional office in Iowa to assist with the acquisition of Davenport Bank and Trust Company. In his new position, Rohde will be responsible for community banking at Norwest's offices in St. Louis Park and in Minneapolis at the Calhoun Isles, Chicago-Lake, Nicollet-Lake, 48th and Chicago, Lyndale South and Nokomis offices.
 Strande, who was president of Norwest's Excelsior office, will be responsible for community banking at the University-Midway and MetroSouth banks in Minneapolis and the Macalester-Groveland location in St. Paul.
 Rohde joined Norwest as a management trainee in 1969 and served as a senior lender and senior vice president at MetroSouth Bank. He became president of MetroSouth in 1984 and became responsible for the Southeast Minneapolis market when he was elected president of Norwest's University-Midway Bank in Minneapolis in 1987. A native of Madison, Wis., he has a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Wisconsin.
 Rohde is a member of Robert Morris Associates, a commercial banking association, and is on the board of the Uptown Association, which includes representatives of businesses in the Uptown area of Minneapolis. He previously served on the boards of the Midway Civic and Commercial Association in St. Paul and Nekton, Inc., which provides support services to people with developmental disabilities.
 Strande joined Norwest in 1981 at its Calhoun Isles office in Minneapolis after four years with First Banks System in Rochester, Minn. A native of Peoria, Ill., she grew up in Rochester and is a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
 Strande is a member of Robert Morris Associates, Financial Women International, Rotary International and serves on the board of directors of the New Century Chamber Players orchestral group. She has been active in the Excelsior Area Chamber of Commerce.
