 AND TOBAGO
NORWALK, Conn., Oct. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Norwalk Company, Inc., a leader in the design and manufacture of natural gas vehicle (NGV) fueling systems, today announced that it has been awarded a contract by Trinidad and Tobago National Petroleum Marketing Company, Ltd., to install 11 NGV fueling stations in 1993.
Arthur McCauley, chairman and president of Norwalk Company, said, "This contract award is a testimonial to the ability of Norwalk to design, engineer and manufacture quality equipment for the growing U.S. and international alternate fuels market."
Norwalk was chosen over several international bidders for the first phase of the Trinidad government's energy conservation program. The company has had a pilot station operating in Claxton Bay, Trinidad, since 1986.
George Sun, chief executive officer of Trinidad and Tobago National Petroleum Marketing Company, Ltd., stated, "The Norwalk contract is a critical part of Trinidad's energy policy of conserving liquid petroleum products for export and utilizing its natural gas resources for vehicle fueling."
Sun said that the selection of Norwalk was based on the belief that it could best serve Trinidad's need for a highly qualified engineering and manufacturing company capable of providing a complete natural gas fueling system at a competitive price with demonstrated reliability and low maintenance costs. The scope of the contract includes Norwalk's CHARGER Model NQ-SV2 compressor, electronic gas dispenser and gas storage system and controls.
Trinidad and Tobago National Petroleum Marketing Company, Ltd., operates all of the vehicle fueling stations in Trinidad and Tobago. Currently, there are more than 200,000 registered motor vehicles in the country.
