NORTH CANADIAN AND ARCO GAS SIGN AGREEMENT

 CALGARY, Alberta, Jan. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- North Canadian Marketing Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of North Canadian Oils Ltd. (AMEX: NCD, Toronto, Montreal: NCO), and ARCO Gas, a subsidiary of Atlantic Richfield Co. (NYSE: ARC), announced today that they have signed two long term gas supply agreements. ARCO Gas will supply up to 30.7 million cubic feet per day of natural gas on a firm basis over 15 years, to North Canadian's Pasco and Lake cogeneration facilities which are currently being constructed in central Florida.
 Garry Ramsden-Wood, president of North Canadian Marketing, stated that "the agreement represents the start of what we hope will be a strategic business alliance between North Canadian and ARCO." Delivery of 15.4 mmcfd per facility will commence in mid-1993, upon completion of facilities construction, via the Florida Gas Transmission system. The Pasco and Lake cogeneration facilities have a combined electrical generating capacity of 212 megawatts.
 Justin King, chief executive officer of ARCO Gas said, "North Canadian Marketing and ARCO are both aggressive players in the cogeneration market. We look forward to additional opportunities to work with North Canadian to meet the demand of electrical power through gas-fired generation facilities."
