NORTH AMERICAN REALTY ADVISORY TO STUDY POTENTIAL NEW USES FOR USX WATERFRONT PLANT SITE

NEW YORK, June 10 /PRNewswire/ -- North American Realty Advisory Services of New York has been retained to study potential new uses for the closed 600 acre waterfront plant site formerly occupied by USX Corporation's South Works, it was announced today by Ernic Yurchuk, senior vice president of the New York firm.
North American Realty Advisory Services, founded in 1963, has assisted major corporations throughout the United States and Canada, in more than 800 projects -- including several steel plants -- in creating new uses and users for unused or underutilized land and buildings.
Yurchuk said the aim of the study will be to serve the needs of both USX and the surrounding community through development of new uses that create jobs and tax revenues.
William W. Kiser, president of USX Realty Development said his organization believes there is great development potential for the South Works lakefront site.
"It is our view that North American Realty Advisory Services is well qualified to help uncover ways the site can be reused to the significant benefit of the people of Chicago," Kiser said.
USX Realty Development is a leading developer of industrial and residential projects in a number of major regions of the country.
