NORRIS HIRES NEW CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER TO HEAD MANUFACTURING SUBSIDIARIES

 POWAY, Calif., March 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Norris Communications Corp. (OTC Bulletin Board: NROIF; Vancouver: NOC) announced today it has hired Hank Dorsett to fill the position of chief operations officer for Norris' manufacturing subsidiaries, American Surface Mounted Devices Inc. (ASMD), Sage Micro Inc. (Sage) and CadCo Design Group (CadCo).
 Dorsett has more than 20 years of hands-on experience in P&L management, manufacturing, engineering, project management and marketing support. His diverse background includes working for three Fortune 100 companies (Singer Co., Brunswick-Technetics and Control Data Corp.), turnaround situations (Nu-Ear Electronics), and consolidations (Wavetek Inc. and Ascom/Integrated Networks). He brings a strong record of achievement in cost control and organizational development within Commercial MIL-SPEC and FDA environments. He is also experienced with off-shore, maquiladora and multiplant operations.
 Dorsett has managed facilities and support services for operations in excess of 500,000 square feet and employing more than 3,000 persons. He was awarded a patent for a printed circuit board insertion/extraction system. He received his BSME degree from the University of California-Berkeley.

 ASMD recently entered into a major new contract with Evans & Sutherland, a Salt Lake City-based firm specializing in flight simulators and other high-tech equipment utilizing high resolution computer-aided graphics. The contract worth $500,000 over the next 12 months will involve assembling the most sophisticated board ASMD has ever manufactured. ASMD was also awarded a separate contract from Cubic Defense worth $225,000. ASMD announced it has also added Bircher Medical of Irvine, Calif., ViaSat, a Carlsbad, Calif.-based military manufacturer and Pacific Data Products of San Diego to its family of customers. Additionally, ASMD recently received substantial new orders from Kodak, Codenoll, VORAD and a medical division of Eli Lilly. Combined backlog currently stands at more than $8.75 million for Norris' manufacturing subsidiaries.
