NORMAN A. BARKELEY AND MICHAEL R. PEEVEY ELECTED DIRECTORS OF DAMES & MOORE

 LOS ANGELES, March 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Norman A. Barkeley and Michael R. Peevey have been elected directors of Dames & Moore (NYSE: DM), international environmental and engineering consultants. The addition of the two outside directors increases Dames & Moore's board of directors from 10 to 12 members.
 Barkeley, 63, is chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Ducommun Inc., a manufacturer of components and assemblies for the aerospace industry. Prior to joining Ducommun, Barkeley was with Lear Siegler Inc., a diversified manufacturer of aerospace, automotive, and commercial/industrial products, which has since been sold to Forstmann, Little Co. He held several senior positions during his 32-year career at Lear Siegler, including chairman and chief executive officer.
 Barkeley is also a director of RHR International Co., Technetics Corp., American Defense Preparedness Association, The French Foundation for Alzheimer Research, California State University Foundation and Retinitis Pigmentosa Foundation.
 He received a bachelor of science in business administration from Michigan State University.
 Peevey, 55, recently retired as president and director of SCEcorp and Southern California Edison, although he remains as a consultant to the company. He is chairman of the Commission on Innovation, California Community Colleges; Board of Trustees, Independent Colleges of Southern California; and Calstart, a consortium to develop electric vehicles. He is a director of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce; Mercantile National Bancorporation; and Aurora National Life Assurance Corp.
 He formerly served as president of the California Council for Environmental and Economic Balance; director of research for the California Labor Federation, AFL-CIO; coordinator of community programs for the Institute of Industrial Relations, University of California, Berkeley; and an economist with the U.S. Department of Labor in Washington, D.C. Peevey is also a former commissioner of the National Commission on State Workmen's Compensation Laws, which was a presidential appointment.
 He received an master of arts and a bachelor of arts in economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
 Dames & Moore is a worldwide professional services company, providing comprehensive environmental and specialized consulting and engineering services. The company had gross revenues of $357.5 million in fiscal year 1992 and maintains offices and affiliates throughout the United States as well as 19 other countries.
