NORFOLK SOUTHERN ANNOUNCES LOCATION OF NEW CUSTOMER SERVICE CENTER

 NORFOLK, Va., Feb. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Norfolk Southern Corporation (NYSE: NSC) today announced that the location of its new Customer Service Center will be in its building at 185 Spring Street, Atlanta, Georgia.
 The Thoroughbred Customer Service Center will be available to Norfolk Southern customers 24 hours a day to respond immediately to service requirements, transit activity, and all questions regarding Norfolk Southern rail transportation services.
 "Thoroughbred Quality demands that we offer our customers service which they expect. Our new service center will include advanced state- of-the-art technology that provides centralized up-to-date information about their shipments," said C. Michael Irvin, Norfolk Southern vice- president for transportation.
 Irvin further stated, "Our building in Atlanta, which contains the railroad transportation control center, provides the ideal location."
 The Customer Service Center will be fully staffed and operational by December 1993.
