NORDICTRA -- NordicTrack announced today, the joint venture with the "Profsport" Training Institute, a Russian Research Center in Moscow for Olympic sportsmen and professional athletes. The relationship with "Profsport" will allow NordicTrack to utilize the latest concepts in Russian sports technology development in

"Profsport" will be headed by Igor Kravzev, a nationally know Russian national and Olympic coach, who has coached many Olympic gold medalists including the Russian women's basketball team in 1992. "We are extremely excited about this new collaboration between NordicTrack, 'Profsport' and Kravzev and his staff," explained Bostic. "Igor's unique approaches to training Russian Olympic athletes hold the promise of incredible innovation in new sports and fitness equipment for the U.S. and European markets."
"Profsport" will help NordicTrack bring new designs to market under a special "Olympic series" brand name. The center will also serve as a channel for continuing long-range research and development of new exercise products and training methods.
Kravzev has long been recognized in Russian and the former Soviet Union as one of the pioneers of sports science in that country. His new technologies incorporating a revolutionary kinetic, total-body systems approach have, for years, helped give Russian athletes the performance edge they needed to dominate the world athletic arena.
Instead of isolated use of eccentric or concentric movements, Kravzev's technologies incorporate eccentric, concentric and systemic aerobic energy. In other words, his methodology utilizes a kinetic total-body approach of strengthening and endurance of the individual locomotor muscles, ligaments and joints altogether.
"We plan to integrate these unique training technologies into new patented products that will continue to keep NordicTrack on the cutting edge of new fitness products development," said Bostic. "Consumers can expect to begin seeing these products by the end of 1993."
 NordicTrack is a CML Company.
