 NOBLE ANNOUNCES PRODUCTION FROM SECOND
 WELL IN ALBA FIELD, EQUITORIAL GUINEA
 ARDMORE, Okla., Sept. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Noble Affiliates, Inc. (NYSE: NBL) today announced that production has commenced from the second well in its Alba field located offshore Equatorial Guinea. Samedan of North Africa, Inc., a unit of Noble Affiliates, owns a 30 percent working interest in the field and the production sharing contract.
 The well was drilled to 11,487 feet and encountered approximately 650 feet of gas/condensate sands as measured by electric log. Approximately 160 feet of the sand column was perforated and the well tested 39.9 million cubic feet of gas and 3,140 barrels of condensate per day through a 58/64 inch choke with 3,051 pounds flowing tubing pressure.
 Operational plans call for the field to deliver approximately 55 million cubic feet of gas and 4,500 barrels of condensate per day to onshore facilities.
 The company also indicated that drilling has commenced on an exploratory well located six miles to the northwest of the Alba field on the production sharing contract. Drilling is expected to take approximately 40 days.
 Other interest owners in the production sharing contract include Walter International Equatorial Guinea, Inc. as operator, 23.46 percent; Nomeco Equatorial Guinea Oil and Gas Co., a unit of CMS Energy, 16.67 percent; Globex International, 11.21 percent; and others.
