NOBLE AFFILIATES REPORTS SECOND QUARTER AND FIRST SIX MONTHS RESULTS

 ARDMORE, Okla., July 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Noble Affiliates, Inc. (NYSE: NBL) today reported 1993 second quarter net income of $4,002,000, or 8 cents per share, on revenues of $66,327,000, compared with net income of $24,086,000, or 54 cents per share, on revenues of $96,943,000 in the same period a year ago.
 For the six-month period ended June 30, 1993, the company had net income of $8,490,000, or 18 cents per share, on revenues of $136,181,000, vs. net earnings of $26,637,000, or 60 cents per share on revenues of $158,474,000 for the 1992 first half.
 Reflected in the previous year's results were revenues of $27.9 million, an $18.4 million after-tax gain, from the sale of the company's interest in Natural Gas Clearinghouse in May 1992.
 Robert Kelley, Noble's chairman, president and chief executive officer, noted that the company's oil and gas revenues for the second quarter and first half were 5 percent and 11 percent higher, respectively, than those of the same periods in 1992.
 Oil production in the 1993 second quarter averaged 18,703 barrels per day, up 8 percent from the 17,270 barrels per day averaged in the same quarter of 1992. During the 1993 second quarter, Noble received an average price of $17.55 per barrel, 9 percent below the average price of $19.33 per barrel received in the same period of 1992.
 For the first half of 1993, Noble's oil production averaged 18,428 barrels per day, up 4 percent over the same period a year ago, while the average price it received in the first six months of 1993 was $17.76 per barrel, down 1 percent from the average price per barrel it received in 1992's first six months.
 Daily gas production averaged 182.7 million cubic feet in the second quarter and 194.3 million cubic feet in the first half of 1993, down 8 percent and 3 percent, respectively, over the same periods of the previous year. However, gas prices received by Noble averaged $2.02 per thousand cubic feet in the 1993 second quarter, 19 percent above the average price of $1.69 per thousand cubic feet for the same period last year. For the 1993 first half, the company received an average price of $2.00 per thousand cubic feet, 24 percent higher than the $1.61 per thousand cubic feet averaged in the same period of 1992.
