NOBLE AFFILIATES FORMS MARKETING COMPANY

 ARDMORE, Okla., Jan. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Noble Affiliates, Inc. (NYSE: NBL) today announced it is forming a new wholly owned subsidiary to market its natural gas production directly to end users.
 The new subsidiary, Noble Gas Marketing, Inc., will be responsible for identifying innovative markets for Noble's gas production and arranging for transportation. The company also will serve other gas producers by purchasing third party gas and providing gas management services. Additionally, the subsidiary will be actively involved in building and operating gas gathering and gas processing systems.
 Guy C. Spence has been named to head the new subsidiary, which will be headquartered in Houston. Spence has been actively involved for more than 20 years in various aspects of gas marketing and most recently was a gas marketing consultant through his own firm to a number of energy companies.
 Noble Affiliates, Inc. is an independent energy company with exploration and production operations throughout major basins in the United States, including the Gulf of Mexico, as well as international operations primarily in Canada, Tunisia, Indonesia and Equatorial Guinea. Its common stock is listed on the NYSE under the symbol "NBL."
