NOBLE AFFILIATES ANNOUNCES RESULTS OF OFFSHORE LOUISIANA WELL

 ARDMORE, Okla., Aug. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Noble Affiliates, Inc. (NYSE: NBL) today announced the results of its second well on the Vermilion 371 Block, located offshore Louisiana.
 The OCS-G-9524 No. 2 well encountered 102 feet of oil and gas/condensate pay in four zones as determined from electric logs. The well's bottom hole location is approximately 4,950 feet from the discovery well, which was drilled during the first quarter of 1993. The discovery well tested 2,119 barrels of oil/condensate and 9.3 million cubic feet of gas per day from three zones on a combined basis.
 Two additional wells are scheduled to be drilled on the block prior to construction of production facilities. First production is anticipated for late 1994 or early 1995.
 Samedan Oil Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Noble Affiliates, Inc., is operator of the property and owns a 45 percent working interest. Other working interest owners are Shell Offshore Inc., an affiliate of Shell Oil Company, 33 percent and Energy Development Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Enterprise Diversified Holdings, Incorporated of Newark, N.J., 22 percent.
