NJHA PRESIDENT ISSUES STATEMENT ON JUDGE'S RULING
 PRINCETON, N.J., June 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Louis P. Scibetta, FACHE,

president of the 112-member New Jersey Hospital Association (NJHA), today issued the following statement regarding a federal judge's ruling to stay the landmark decision on New Jersey's hospital payment system:
"This is precisely the type of action we hoped would take place. It opens the door to ensuring that access to hospital care for all New Jerseyans will continue, regardless of their ability to pay. The Hospital Association will work tirelessly with the Governor, Legislature and other interested parties to avert a situation that would otherwise spell crisis for our hospitals and the public. Along with protecting all patients' right to care, this stay should set the stage for major changes in the way hospitals are paid for the uncompensated care they provide and how all patients are billed. We continue to see this as an opportunity to improve the entire healthcare system. Obviously, with Judge Wolin's stay, time is of the essence and action is imperative."
