NISSAN SUPPORTS FIRE RELIEF EFFORTS

TORRANCE, Calif., Nov. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Nissan North America Inc. announced today that it will donate $10,000 to the American Red Cross' relief efforts on behalf of the victims of the massive firestorms that swept Southern California during the last two weeks.
The donation will be divided between the Orange County and Los Angeles chapters of the Red Cross to help in the organization's outreach to the hundreds of residents who were left homeless in the wake of the 17 fires that ranged from Laguna to Malibu.
"We have employees who live in the fire areas, and consider ourselves very lucky that none of them were affected by this tragedy," said Don Spetner, director of corporate communications for Nissan North America. "But for many who were not as fortunate, the Red Cross may provide their only source of crucial physical and emotional relief. An effort of this magnitude will seriously deplete the Red Cross' resources and we want to help insure that does not happen."
Additionally, Nissan Motor Corp., USA has donated the use of two Nissan 4x2 pick-ups trucks and two Pathfinders to Marine and Mountain Wildlife Rescue, an animal rescue organization based in Malibu. The vehicles will be used to transport food, water and other supplies to animals in the mountain and canyon areas most devastated by the fires.
Nissan's North American operations include designing, engineering, manufacturing, sales, consumer and corporate finance, and industrial and textile equipment. Nissan employs nearly 10,000 people in the United States and generates an additional 55,000 jobs through its 1,400 Nissan and Infiniti dealerships located across the nation.
