 FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Feb. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Nine financial analysts, in both equities and fixed income, joined Templeton Worldwide recently, bringing the number of in-house analysts on staff to 38.
 "The addition of these analysts is part of a process we began about six years ago to broaden and expand our analytical capability," said Mark Holowesko, head of research. "We are delighted to be able to attract such high caliber talent as reflected in our most recent hires."
 Marc S. Joseph, 33, has joined Templeton Investment Counsel, Inc. as a vice president, portfolio manager and research analyst. Previously, Mr. Joseph was a portfolio manager and analyst with Pacific Financial Research in Los Angeles. Mr. Joseph is a graduate of William and Mary (B.S., high honors), Harvard Law School (J.D., magna cum laude) and Harvard Business School (M.B.A., high honors) where he was a Baker Scholar. Mr. Joseph is a member of the California bar.
 Gary R. Clemons, 37, has joined Templeton Investment Counsel, Inc. as a research analyst. Previously, he was a research analyst for Structured Asset Management in New York where he managed a small capitalization fund. Mr. Clemons graduated from University of Nevada- Reno (B.S.) and University of Wisconsin-Madison (M.B.A.).
 Karen J. Coll, 37, has joined Templeton Management Limited in Canada as a vice president, portfolio manager and research analyst. Ms. Coll was previously a vice president and portfolio manager with Sun Life Investment Management where she managed international equity funds from 1989 to 1993 and fixed income portfolios from 1985 to 1989. She has 15 years experience in investment management. Ms. Coll graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst and currently on the Board of Directors of the Toronto Society of Financial Analysts.
 Edward Ramos, 26, has joined Templeton Investment Counsel, Inc. as a research analyst. Mr. Ramos was previously assistant to the Chief Investment Officer of Prudential Equity Management Associates in Newark, NJ. He graduated from Lehigh University (B.S.) and Columbia Graduate School of Business (M.B.A.).
 William T. Howard, Jr., 35, has joined Templeton Investment Counsel, Inc. as a vice president, portfolio manager and research analyst. Previously, Mr. Howard was a portfolio manager and analyst with Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System in Nashville. Mr. Howard graduated from Rhodes College (B.A.) and Emory University (M.B.A.). He is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
 D. William Kohli, 32, has joined the Templeton Global Bond Management team as a senior vice president. In addition to other Templeton fixed income funds, Mr. Kohli has been the portfolio manager of the Franklin Global Government Income Fund since the fund's inception in 1988. Prior to joining Franklin, Mr. Kohli was with the Sperry Corporation. Mr. Kohli graduated from the University of California at San Diego (B.S.) and University of California at Berkeley (M.B.A.).
 Peter Nori, 28, has joined Templeton Investment Counsel, Inc. as a research analyst. Previously, Mr. Nori was co-portfolio manager of the Franklin Convertible Securities Fund and served as a securities analyst at The Franklin Group of Funds. He earned both his B.S. and M.B.A. from the University of San Francisco. Mr. Nori is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
 Kent P. Sheperd, 29, has joined Templeton, Galbraith and Hansberger, Ltd. in Nassau as a research analyst. Previously, Mr. Sheperd was an assistant portfolio manager and senior securities analyst with The Franklin Group of Funds. He received his B.A. from Northwestern University and his M.B.A. from UCLA.
 Murdo Murchison, 28, recently joined Templeton's research operation in Edinburgh, Scotland as an analyst, covering energy services, industrial components and the U.K. Previously, he was an oil, gas and mining analyst for Schroeder Investment Management Ltd. in London and worked with Alex Morrison & Co., a legal firm in Edinburgh. He holds law degrees from Edinburgh and Glascow Universities.
