NIKKO SECURITIES INTERNATIONAL ANNOUNCES SENIOR MANAGEMENT CHANGES

 NEW YORK, June 30 /PRNewswire/ -- The Nikko Securities Co. International, Inc. today announced the appointment of Masumi Yamaguchi as vice chairman of the firm and as deputy chief operating officer of The Nikko Securities Co. Ltd.'s Americas Group. Succeeding Mr. Yamaguchi as president of Nikko International is Tadao Osada, previously general manager of the international business planning division of The Nikko Securities Co. Ltd.
 "The elevation of Mr. Yamaguchi to vice chairman and deputy chief operating officer of the Americas Group is a further reflection of the firm's commitment to developing business in both North and South America," said Ryosuke Suzuki, chairman of Nikko International and chief operating officer of the Americas Group. "We are delighted to have Tadao Osada, who has vast experience overseeing various areas throughout Nikko's worldwide organization, assume responsibility for the ongoing management of Nikko International."
 Yamaguchi, 58, was appointed president of Nikko International in March 1991 after serving as executive vice president and head of the firm's Chicago office. Yamaguchi, who also is general manager of the firm's corporate finance department, is credited with developing Nikko International's U.S. futures and options business. Earlier in his career, he was involved in retail sales, international finance and strategic planning for The Nikko Securities Co. Ltd., which he joined in 1960. He received a bachelor's degree in law from the University of Tokyo and studied at the Graduate School of Economics at Vanderbilt University.
 In his new position, Yamaguchi will assist Mr. Suzuki in the overall management of the Americas Group. In addition, he will focus on developing corporate finance business in North America as well as with potential issuers in Latin America.
 Osada, 46, joined The Nikko Securities Co. Ltd. in 1969 in the firm's Foreign Division and subsequently held a variety of positions in retail sales. In 1982, he was transferred to London-based Nikko Europe where he worked in corporate finance and later as managing director of the Investment and Research Division. I 1988, he became general manager in charge of the Geneva office of Nikko Bank (Switzerland) and returned to Tokyo in 1991 as general manager of the Foreign Institutional Sales Division. He was appointed general manager of the International Business Planning Division in 1992. Osada holds a bachelor's degree in commerce from Meiji University.
 Nikko International operates offices in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles.
