 NIKE AND L.A. GEAR SETTLE ALL CLAIMS
 LOS ANGELES, Dec. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Nike, Inc. (NYSE: NKE) and


L.A. Gear, Inc. (NYSE: LA) today announced they have settled all claims asserted against each other in federal lawsuits pending in Los Angeles and Portland, Ore.
 Nike agreed to dismiss its claim in the California action that L.A. Gear's CATAPULT(TM) technology infringes Nike's patent rights and to take no further legal action against L.A. Gear or any of its suppliers or customers with respect to L.A. Gear's CATAPULT model shoes. Nike also agreed to dismiss the case it filed in Oregon against L.A. Gear arising out of L.A. Gear's distribution agreement in Spain.
 L.A. Gear agreed to dismiss its counterclaims in the California action, including its claim that Nike engaged in anticompetitive conduct, and to take no further legal action against Nike or any of its suppliers or customers with respect to any activities asserted in the counterclaims.
 The settlement provides for no monetary compensation to be paid by either party. All other terms of the settlement are confidential.
