NORTHBROOK, Ill., Sept. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- The A.C. Nielsen Company today announced an agreement with the Colgate-Palmolive Company for a comprehensive long-term information partnership for North American data and software services.
This decision comes after an intensive review of the capabilities and services offered within the industry. In announcing the decision, Ed Fogarty, president of Colgate North America, said, "We based our decision on a number of factors, including our belief in Nielsen's new management team and their commitment to our business, Nielsen's global presence and capabilities, their underlying data including both retail and household based information from all retail channels and their enhanced software tools and analytical capabilities. In addition, by extending the long-standing relationship between the two companies, we ensure maximum business continuity. We are looking forward to this continued relationship that we are sure will be beneficial for both companys' future competitiveness and successes."
George Garrick, chief executive officer for Nielsen, North America, said, "We are obviously very excited about Colgate's decision to expand and extend their relationship with us, especially since this was an opportunity to present the `new Nielsen' in an intensely competitive situation.
