 SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT AND GENERAL COUNSEL
 NEW YORK, April 14 /PRNewswire/ -- NHL Enterprises President Steve Ryan announced today the appointment of Richard H. Zahnd as senior vice- president and general counsel.
 Zahnd, 45, is a sports and entertainment law specialist who has served as vice president for both the New York Rangers of the NHL and the New York Knickerbockers of the National Basketball Association. He also served as an alternate governor for both teams during his 12 year association with Madison Square Garden Corporation from 1974 through 1986.
 Ryan said, "Dick Zahnd is uniquely qualified to assume legal responsibility for our rapidly growing company. He will be involved in all facets of our business including licensing, corporate sponsorships, publishing, team services, event marketing and project management for the New Hockey Hall of Fame. His club experience and legal expertise will add an important dimension and in-house capability."
 A graduate of New York University School of Law (1971), Zahnd has been practicing law in New York for more than two decades, and has served as senior vice president and general counsel of Madison Square Garden Corporation.
 Through his most recent position as a partner in the entertainment and sports group of a major, international law firm, Zahnd has extensive experience with facility and promotional arrangements, live-event and television rights acquisitions, cable television system affiliations, team operations and sports franchise purchases/dispositions. He also represented corporate and individual clients in a wide variety of general commercial matters.
