NFSR for transferring agriculture technology to provinces.
ISLAMABAD -- National Assembly Standing Committee on National Food Security and Research (NFSR) Wednesday stressed the need for transferring the latest technology to provincial agricultural extension departments and thereby to the farmers.
During its meeting, held in Karachi under the chairmanship of MNA Malik Shakir Bashir Awan, the committee urged the scientists to motivate youth through technical skill development programs and help make the agriculture profitable.
Through promotion of agricultural development activities in the area the youth can avail ample opportunities to generate their income and to improve their livelihood.
Earlier, Dr. Mubarik Ali, Director General of SouthernZone Agricultural Research Centre (SARC) PARC gave a detailed briefing to the Standing Committee about SARC ongoing research activities and achievements.
After briefing, the Committee visited various laboratories of the Centre especially the laboratory related to wheat quality testing.
The meeting was attended by Choudhry Nazir Ahmed, Dostain Domki, Rao Mohammad Ajmal Khan, Syed Iftikharul Hassan, Ms. Shahnaz Saleem, Ms. Khalida Mansoor, Abdul Sattar Bacani, Faqir Sher Muhmmad Bilalani, Muhmmad Salman Khan Baloch, Dr. Fouzia Hamed, and senior officers from Ministry of National Food Security and Research and Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC).
