NFL News: San Francisco 49ers' Colin Kaepernick To Spend Offseason Training With Ex-NFL QB Kurt Warner.

Colin Kaepernick of the San Francisco 49ers has made the postseason in his first two years in the National Football League (NFL). In 2014, his fourth season, his team missed the playoffs and Kaepernick's offseason reply is to train harder and work with former quarterback great Kurt Warner and veteran quarterback coach Dennis Gile.

Warner, who retired from the game just five years ago, is a two time NFL Most Valuable Player (MVP) and a Super Bowl champion with the St. Louis Rams in 2000. He's also a 4-time Pro Bowler who had stints with the Rams from 1998 to 2003, New York Giants in 2004 and the Arizona Cardinals from 2005 to 2009. Meanwhile Gile, who runs the EXOS sports performance crew, has had experience playing in the Canadian Football League (CFL) and the Arena League and also coached the likes of Tim Tebow and Christian Ponder in the previous years.

"If we can teach him [consistency and efficiency], then I think he becomes one of the most dangerous quarterbacks in the NFL," Gile said to the Sacramento Bee, the website who first reported the Kaepernick offseason update. "Because you can't teach the natural talents that he has."

Kaepernick's Total Quarterback Rating (QBR) has dropped annually since he joined the league in 2011. In Kaepernick's rookie season, he had a 93.4 QBR, but it went down to 72.2 in 2012, 68.6 in 2013 and 55.9 last season. However, Kaepernick had a career-high 3,369 passing yards on 289-of-478 completions with 19 touchdowns and 10 interceptions for the 2014 NFL season. One of the best dual quarterbacks in the league, Kaepernick also ran for 639 yards in 2014 on a career-high 104 carries.

Other players who will train in the EXOS offseason program under Gile are Odell Beckham Jr. of the New York Giants, Jarvis Landry of the Miami Dolphins and Kaepernick's teammates at San Francisco, Quinton Patton, Bruce Ellington and Bruce Miller.
