NFBPA meeting stresses excellence.

The National Forum for Black Public Administrators (NFBPA)--the nation's premier association for black public leadership--will hold its tenth annual conference in Houston, Tex. during the period April 12-15, 1992. The theme for FORUM '92 is "No Mission is Impossible in the Pursuit of Excellence," and the program will be dedicated to the memory and legacy of the late Congressman Mickey Leland.

Founded in 1983, the NFBPA mission is threefold: to increase the number of blacks appointed to executive positions in public service; to enhance the managerial skills of currently positioned black managers; and to groom younger, emerging public administrators for the challenges of public service leadership positions in the years ahead. The intensity and substance of the more than 40 workshops that will be featured at FORUM '92 provide fitting testimony of NFBPA's commitment to empowering managers with the skills and insight necessary to provide visionary leadership in today's public service environment.

The NFBPA annual conference is a significant event in the organization's training calendar. Every year, with the support of a local chapter of the organization and numerous private corporations, the NFBPA produces a four-day training event that is highly regarded throughout the public administration industry. More than 1,000 dedicated public management professionals are expected to be in attendance for FORUM '92 next April. Without a doubt, FORUM '92 will provide an unmatched opportunity for skills enhancement, peer networking and professional development that you simply cannot afford to miss.

In addition to an impressive array of workshops and seminars, FORUM '92 will feature six keynote sessions, including keynote presentations by Virginia Governor L. Douglas Wilder and McNeil Lehrer NewsHour Correspondent Charlayne Hunter-Gault. Other confirmed keynote speakers include Xerox Corporation executive Barry Rand and Chicago Attorney Thomas N. Todd.
