NEWSPAPER CLASSIFIED ADS AND TV REVENUES FINISH STRONGER IN TRIBUNE OPERATING DATA FOR 12th PERIOD, 4th QUARTER

 CHICAGO, Feb. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- The following is the Tribune Company's operating data for the four weeks/l2th period, fourth quarter and full year ending Dec. 27, l992.
 Newspaper revenues (combined advertising circulation & other) were up 3.2 percent for period, 2.8 for the quarter, 2.5 year to date. Retail ad revenues were up l.8 percent for the period, up 0.l for the quarter and down 0.3 YTD.
 General, down ll.9 percent/period, down 8.2/quarter, up 3.3/YTD.
 Classified, up 7.2 percent/period, up 6.8/quarter, up 3.6/YTD.
 Total newspaper ad revenue, up l.4 percent/period, up 0.8/quarter, up l.6/YTD.
 Circulation revenues up 4.3 percent/period, up 3.9/quarter, up 1.5/YTD.
 Broadcasting & Entertainment revenues (combined TV, radio and entertainment) were up 25.7 percent in the period, up l5.4/quarter, and up l0.8/YTD. This includes the $l2.7 million baseball fees in entertainment line. But don't overlook television revenues: up l2 percent/period, up 10/quarter, up 7/YTD. See attached for details.
 Newsprint revenues were up 4.2 percent/period, down 6.l/quarter, down l4.l/YTD. Shipments were up 9.2 percent/period, up 2.3/quarter, up 4.3/YTD.
