NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., May 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Sutro & Co. and The

Salvation Army will be sponsoring a food and clothing drive on Wednesday and Thursday, May 13-14, to benefit victims of the recent L.A. riots.
According to Sutro's Branch Manager Louis Berlin, "We feel it's important for business to take a more active role in the community, and this is something we're striving to do firmwide. Even though we weren't directly affected by the violence in L.A., we wanted to help out."
Lieutenant Lee Lescano, who represents The Salvation Army in Orange County, has coordinated the two-day-long food and clothing drive with Sutro.
The drive will be held at Sutro's Newport Beach office at 2 Civic Plaza, Suite 180 (at San Joaquin Hills Road and Santa Cruz). Drop-off times will be from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on both days. Items requested for donation include canned food, clothing, blankets, diapers, and children's clothing. Monetary donations will also be accepted at the time. Checks should be made payable to The Salvation Army, with a notation on the check that the donation is specifically for L.A. relief.
