(NASDAQ: NPRS) today reported net income of $910,000, equal to 10 cents per share, on revenues of $17,305,000 for the quarter ended June 30, 1993, compared to net income of $1,527,000, or $.17 per share, on revenues of $15,664,000 in the same period of 1992.
For the first six months, the company's net income was $1,430,000, equal to 16 cents per share, on revenues of $33,263,000. This compares to net income of $2,877,000, or 32 cents per share, on revenues of $30,993,000 in the corresponding period of 1992.

Additionally, the uncertainty caused by changes in the Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (NORM) regulations shut down the remediation of old production facilities and pits during the first half of the year.
Cole added that the uncertainty of the NORM regulations has been resolved and that the company anticipates several remediation projects will begin in the third quarter. Moreover, drilling activity is rebounding as the number of operating rigs has increased approximately 20 percent from the average working in the second quarter.
Cole concluded that the drilling increases and remediation projects are anticipated to improve the second has revenue and income.
Newpark Resources provides integrated environmental and oilfield services to the exploration and production industry.
