NEWLOVE YOB PLEA.
VILE thug Adam Swellings - ringleader of a gang who kicked dad Garry Newlove to death - has launched a barefaced appeal against his murder conviction and sentence.
Swellings, 19, was jailed for life in February with the recommendation he serve at least 17 years.
He had been released from custody on an assault charge hours before leading the attack on Mr Newlove, 47, who was "kicked like a football"
outside his Warrington home in front of daughters Zoe, 18, Danielle, 16, and Amy, 13.
Also convicted of murder were Stephen Sorton, 17, and Jordan Cunliffe, 16, but incredibly a friend of the killers' families revealed last night: "The mothers are ecstatic about the appeal.
"They see what happened to their sons as a grave injustice."
Swellings's legal team want the conviction reduced to manslaughter and say his sentence is beyond the 15-year minimum for similar crimes.
But a source at charity Mothers Against Murder and Aggression said: "This sends out the message there's more help for the killers than victims."
BID: Swellings, Garry
