 NEW YORK POST OFFICE TO SALUTE COLUMBUS DAY
 WHAT: In a public ceremony, the New York Post office will pay


tribute to Christopher Columbus and the 500th anniversary of the discovery of the Americas. Elementary school students will be present at the event, which will also highlight stamp collecting and the special philatelics commemorating Columbus' anniversary. These include a commemorative pictorial postmark and souvenir card which have been designed specifically for the event.
 Performing the national anthem and other musical selections will be the New York Grand Opera, under the direction of Vincent LaSelva.
