NEW VIDEO EXPLORES INTIMATE DETAILS OF ADOPTION THROUGH ACTUAL FOOTAGE

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., May 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Independent adoption is, for most, a great mystery. Those entering the world of adoption typically have no other option than to dive in and hope for the best. There has simply never before existed an authority available on the subject; no such thing as "Adoption 101." Until now.
Now there is "Adoption: Two Different Kinds of Love," a video presentation composed of actual footage which reveals the most intimate details of the adoption process -- from every point of view. Produced by Family Matters Productions and attorney Durand Cook, a 20-year veteran who has facilitated more than 1,000 successful adoptions, the video features actual footage of scenes like these:
-- Three huddle in an intense embrace. They are a birth mother and the adoptive parents she has chosen to be the parents of her soon-to-be- born child. The embrace is a symbolic sealing of their mutual agreement and commitment.
-- A young woman cradles her newborn babe, cooing gentle words and kissing its downy forehead. All the while tears stream down her face. In a very short time, she is saying both hello and goodbye; she will soon be handing the babe to the adoptive parents she has carefully chosen to raise as their own.
-- A young professional couple struggles to express their feelings surrounding their infertility. While they are clearly excited at the promise of soon having a child, the pain they have endured undergoing months of ultimately unsuccessful infertility treatments shows plainly in their faces.
-- A young woman strains with the pain and effort of giving birth. At her side murmuring words of encouragement and love and holding her hands are two anxious people -- the adoptive mom and dad whose child is entering the world.
"Adoption: Two Different Kinds of Love" is filled with intimate moments like these, incredibly revealing scenes of the realities, the joy and yes, the pain of independent adoption. In addition to the human factor, however, this presentation is generous with insights from a number of expert adoption professionals such as Hilary Hanafin, Ph.D., Irene Kassorla, Ph.D., Stephanie Siegel, Ph.D., and Carol Wolfe, M.A. Also featured are a great number of open, honest comments from adoptive parents and birth mothers -- every day people who, without the benefit of a script, offer insight into their own experiences.
Dubbed "Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Adoption But Were Afraid to Ask," by adoptive mom Judy Rankine, this video is a must see for anyone whose life has been touched or may be touched by adoption -- prospective adoptive parents, birth parents, school counselors, mental health and medical professionals -- or just family and friends of those whose lives have been blessed by the miracle of a child just when it didn't seem possible.
