NEW TELEVISION SERVICE MONITORS INFOMERCIALS

PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Informercial Monitoring Service, Inc. (IMS), a video company designed to track and retrieve comprehensive information from the nation's paid programming channels has begun operations here, it was announced today.
The new service gives its clients up-to-the-minute data on new product offerings and programs, media buying timetables and trends in the infomercial industry, according to founder and President Sam Catanese, a veteran video production executive.
Need for the new service was prompted by advertising agencies, marketing companies and industry manufacturers who require key programming information as quickly as the next day for client assessment. Such data includes frequencies and time periods that infomercials air.
From each of the nine major television networks, IMS produces daily grids on a weekly basis showing where programs are being aired in each half-hour time slot.
The Philadelphia-based firm monitors the Nashville Network, USA Network, Family Channel, The Learning Channel, Lifetime, Black Entertainment Television, WWOR, The Discovery Channel, and the Comedy Channel.
Catanese explained that when a new program debuts, IMS will generate a full breakout including airing times, dates, product offering and pricing, the producers and marketing companies involved in the production.
Subscribers may receive VHS of new shows on request for viewing and information purposes only.
IMS also maintains an extensive library of infomercials dating back to 1986.
IMS is an affiliate of A LA M Mode Video Productions, Inc., a leading provider of production, post-production and duplication services to the infomercial industry since 1985.
IMS is available on annual, quarterly or monthly contracts to fit client needs and budgets.
